First Time Here? Visitor Information

Welcome, Visitors!

"Let brotherly love continue. Do not forget to entertain new comers, for by so doing some have unwittingly entertained angels." (Hebrews 13:1-2)

We’re so glad you’re here! Whether you’re visiting from another parish, exploring the Orthodox Christian faith for the first time, or simply curious about our community, we warmly welcome you to St. John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church.

Our parish is a place of prayer, worship, and fellowship, rooted in the ancient tradition of the Orthodox Church and centered on the love of Jesus Christ. We invite you to join us for Divine Liturgy on Sundays at 10:00 AM, preceded by Orthros (Matins) at 8:45 AM. On weekdays, Orthros begins at 9:00 AM before weekday Liturgies. After Sunday services, all are invited to our Fellowship Hour—an opportunity to connect, ask questions, and experience our hospitality.

You can learn more by exploring our website or contacting our Church Office.

What to Expect at Liturgy

If you’re new to the Orthodox Church, here are a few helpful notes:

  • Arrive early to experience the quiet beauty of Orthros and prepare your heart for Liturgy.

  • Dress respectfully. While there’s no formal dress code, modest and clean attire is encouraged—think “Sunday best.” Avoid shorts, sleeveless tops, or clothing that is overly casual.

  • Sit or stand as you’re comfortable. Orthodox worship includes standing, bowing, and crossing oneself—but visitors are welcome to participate at their own pace.

  • Holy Communion is reserved for Orthodox Christians who are properly prepared, but everyone is welcome to receive a piece of blessed bread (antidoron) at the end of the service.

  • Ushers and parishioners are happy to help if you have questions or need assistance during your visit.
